Not all projects are created equal. Some demand the ability to go beyond standard solutions, to interpret complex forms, and to craft windows and doors that do more than “enclose” a space—they define it. These are projects with exceptions, where technical expertise meets Astec craftsmanship, and every detail must be carefully conceived, adapted, and resolved.

The art of detail

Bending an architectural bronze profile requires millimetric precision: the process introduces stresses into the material that must be controlled within strict limits to ensure structural stability and proper accommodation of the glass. The production of the glass itself also demands skill and specialized tools: custom jigs are often used to achieve perfect curves that align precisely with the shape of the frame. Every accessory, finish, and mounting element must be tailored. This work blends ingenuity with material sensitivity and is only possible thanks to a deep understanding of bronze’s properties and fabrication processes.

Château de la Croix Des Gardes – Cannes, France

Perched on the hill overlooking the bay of Cannes, the Château de la Croix Des Gardes is an iconic residence inspired by Florentine architecture and a location for renowned film productions. For this project, Astec produced large arched French doors—among the most complex tasks in architectural bronze fabrication. The curves were meticulously balanced, respecting the material’s mechanical limits to prevent deformation and ensure precise glass fitting.

The doors, adorned with Georgian bars echoing Provençal elegance, blend tradition and technology. Thanks to a nanotechnology treatment applied to the patinated bronze, the surfaces will retain their brilliance over time, even in the highly corrosive marine environment of the French Riviera. A project where form becomes a vehicle of beauty and technical mastery.

Podere Ascianello – Crete Senesi, Tuscany

In the heart of the Crete Senesi, the restoration of Podere Ascianello, designed by Studio Pietro del Vaglio, transformed an ancient agricultural complex into a private residence merging history and modernity.
Astec crafted arched ABX® architectural bronze windows, seamlessly integrated into the stone and brick masonry.
The arches required precise work: profiles bent with dedicated tools, custom-shaped glass, and bespoke accessories, all maintaining structural and visual harmony.

The patinated bronze color blends seamlessly with traditional materials, while the slender profile maximizes transparency. A perfect example of how complex architectural forms can be interpreted with skill and elegance.

Turet – Turin

Located in the heart of Piazza Solferino, Turet is a hub for dining, events, and social gatherings. The project demanded meticulous attention to shape and detail. Astec created curved copper-alloy cladding with gold finish for the main counters, including the iconic twelve-meter-long element on the first floor.

The ends, shaped as inverted truncated cones, posed a technical challenge solved through bespoke fabrication, controlled bending, and invisible joints, delivering visual continuity and sculptural lightness. An illustration of how mastery of copper alloys allows unconventional forms to become design objects that are solid yet refined, functional yet expressive.

Across all these projects, a common thread emerges: meticulous attention to detail and the ability to interpret form. Managing a curved profile, an arch, or a non-standard geometry is no ordinary task. It requires experience, specialized tools, and the artisanal approach that has always been at the core of Astec’s DNA. It is in these exceptions that true expertise is revealed, the kind that transforms challenge into beauty and technique into art.
