The strongest professional relationships are built over time through shared goals, the ability to tackle challenges, and a common commitment to excellence. It is on these foundations that the partnership between Astec and Modtech—key partners in the Hong Kong market—is built. The partnership began in 2016 and today celebrates ten years of mutual understanding, growth, and shared achievements.
This journey reached a significant milestone in 2020 with the signing of the agreement that made Modtech Astec’s official distributor for Hong Kong. Since then, the partnership has grown even stronger, establishing a solid presence in the region and creating a synergy that supports architects, designers, and clients in bringing complex and prestigious projects to life.

Over the years, Astec and Modtech have completed projects ranging from high-end residential developments to major public and commercial projects, demonstrating the versatility of Astec’s solutions and their ability to adapt to the needs of a particularly demanding market.
Among the most representative projects are several prestigious private villas located in the Quarry Bay area, one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive residential neighborhoods. These projects feature luxury windows and doors from the D45 series, along with copper alloy cladding for terraces and facades, helping to define a refined architectural style consistent with the buildings’ high quality. These are highly complex projects, developed over several years and made possible thanks to close collaboration among the teams involved—a collaboration that was essential for addressing and resolving the technical and logistical challenges characteristic of international construction sites of this scale.

The experience gained through our collaboration has also been applied in the commercial sector. In the King Lam Street district, Astec contributed to the construction of a major shopping center by supplying architectural cladding featuring a striking light burnished finish, which gives the building a distinctive and contemporary material identity. To complete the project, doors from the J15 series were also installed in the shopping complex’s various areas; these were designed to meet the project’s rigorous performance requirements and extremely high quality standards.

The trust built up over time has also led several Hong Kong government agencies to choose Astec for their architectural projects. These include projects that have involved the use of cladding in particularly significant public settings, confirming the company’s ability to meet exceptionally stringent technical, aesthetic, and durability requirements.

The project carried out in collaboration with Modtech also provided an important opportunity to further expand the scope of Astec’s expertise. In addition to traditional work in architectural bronze and copper alloys, the company has in fact carried out projects using different materials, such as Corten steel, demonstrating its ability to handle a wide range of architectural metals with the same attention to design and quality of execution.

Ten years of collaboration mean, above all, shared experience. Along the way, there have been challenging moments, including the operational and logistical difficulties imposed by the global pandemic, which required flexibility, coordination, and a constant ability to adapt. Facing these challenges together has further strengthened the relationship between Astec and Modtech, solidifying a partnership based on mutual trust and a shared pursuit of excellence.
The projects completed over the years represent not only the result of a successful business relationship, but also the starting point for new projects and opportunities. It is this shared vision that continues to motivate both companies to invest in their partnership, with the goal of jointly shaping the future of Hong Kong’s architectural market and continuing on a path that, after ten years, still looks ahead with enthusiasm and ambition.
