The architect Renzo Piano used as a core design element for the entire complex: a local hard stone that facilitated an architectural dialogue between the historic buildings, the new architecture and the entrance to the city.
The world-renowned Italian architect that curated every last detail of the project gave maximum importance to every construction element, and chose Astec’s extruded architectural bronze windows and doors (ABX®) of the parliament building, as the perfect complement to the local Maltese stone used on the façade of the Parliament building and throughout the complex.
