The Headquarters Building of Natuzzi in High Point, North Carolina, represents one of the most evocative works undertaken by Astec.
This four-story building is strongly characterized by a grand wall, formed like the prow of a ship and entirely covered with panels made of architectural bronze alloy. To clad the thirteen thousand square foot surface, the faćade required nine hundred one-eighth inch thick panels, each of a slightly different shape and size. Installation required minute precision to maintain a consistent one and three-sixteenths inch gap between panels. Altogether, over two hundred and fifty thousands pounds of laminated bronze alloy was required. As an example of organizational strength, Astec completed the work in only 196 days.
