Architect Magazine – May 2018
Astec has been recognized in the special issue of Architect Magazine called “New Products” for its new collection of some two-dozen interior bronze doors for residential, commercial and hospitality projects. The new collection, designed in collaboration with French architect Stephane Parmentier and presented at the Batimat International Exhibition in November 2017 in Paris, is realized in a combination of copper alloys and other noble metals such as titanium, which make these products extremely unique. The material type and finishes range from strictly geometric design patterns to suggestive pictorial patterns.
The glass versions are among the most refined solutions, with the handles in copper alloy or with artistic designs in which the metallic compositions are protected between panes of glass. The range is also versatile, with concealed hinges, pivot doors with minimal accessories and sliding doors, in pocket and external versions. Each model was designed to convey lightness in combination with customization in the choice of finishing and handles.
Architect Magazine noted the design concepts applied by Astec and that the Italian company’s goals are not only to meet global architecture and interior design demands, but also to help orient doors towards flexibility and personalization.
